We took inspiration from the fantastic author Andy Griffiths. Here was the brief:
Behind door is some treasure but behind the other doors are the most dangerous things in the world!
Draw and describe whats behind the door.

Take a look!

Pig Poems!

When Miss Woolford was away, Puriri worked with Mrs Gordon to write some poems about the pigs that are over the fence.

Pigs.
Furry, lazy.
Scratching, dancing, roaming.
Pigs in grey dust.
Pigs.
- By Neo

Pigs
Angry pig.
Bossy pig.
Snoozing pig.
Elf-like ears.
Chubby Pig.
Relaxing Pig.
Pigs are interesting.
- Blake

Dirty pigs scratching
away elf ears flapping
curly tail flipping over as
it slowly falls asleep.
- Eddie

Lazy Pig
Big porky pig.
Twitchy pig ears.
Small and big pig rolling in the dirt.
Pigs itching like they are dancing.
Tiny pig running away from the big ones.
- Bray.

Pigs
Chubby pigs running.
roaming around.
Sleeping pigs are very lazy.
Fluffy ears like velvet.
I love pigs.
- Georgia

Muddy Pig.

Pink pig.
Adorable pig.
Sneaky pig.
- Erin.

Relaxing Pig.
There is a relaxing pig.
I like pigs with elf ears.
Pigs are beautiful.

- Pigs having dust baths.
Scratching on logs.
Pigs roaming around near the fence
Piglets by their mother
"Oink oink" snouting everywhere
Down hills up hills
Straight pink hair
Pigs are alot of fun.

Study Ladder

Today we all had a go at logging on to our very own account on Study Ladder. Your child will probably have bought home a small slip of paper with their log on details. I will send a laminated card home once they are more familiar with the website.

Study Ladder is a great way to reinforce learning and it is very beneficial as the teacher as I am able to track what each child has done and what their strengths and needs are. Please encourage your child to go on to Study Ladder regularly. I will be setting custom 'tasks' for students at your request.

The link to Study Ladder can be found on the right hand side of this blog under 'Websites for Learning'.

Hands on Homework- Week 2

We are very lucky this week and we get Wednesday off school to celebrate Waitangi Day. But what is Waitangi Day?
This week your task is to find out what Waitangi Day is all about. You may like to talk to your parents, grandparents or neighbours. You could do some research on the internet or in the library.
You can present your information in a poster or you can just share with the class on Friday.

What makes a successful classroom?

Today we brainstormed what we thought made a successful classroom.
We put all of our ideas into 'wordle' so that the most important ideas are bigger.

We have used the most important words to form our class guidelines. They are:
- We will co-operate
- We will share
- We will 'be the best we can be'
- We will be helpful
- We will listen

Hands on Homework!

Your very first 'Hands on Homework' task is to find some photos of what you got up to over the summer holidays! These can either be digital or printed out. If you have a digital photo you can email it to: misswoolford2013@gmail.com or you can bring it in on a flash drive/memory stick.
This task is optional but it would be great if we could have lots and lots of photos!

Welcome to our Blog!

Hello students and whanau!
Welcome to our class blog! This will be a place where we share our learning, celebrate our successes and access websites which will help our learning.
Feel free to leave a comment so we know you have had a look at what we have been up to.
Happy blogging!
Miss Woolford.
